Parking Lots

Thingvellir National Park has several designated parking areas to accommodate visitors:


P1 - Thingvellir Church and Visitor Center:

P2 - Hakid:

P5 - Oxararfoss Parking:

  • Nearest to Oxararfoss waterfall.
  • Perfect for those primarily visiting the waterfall.

P11 - Flosagjá:

  • Great for divers and snorkelers heading to Silfra fissure.
  • Less crowded, primarily used by adventure seekers.

Parking Fees

  • Fee Structure: As of 2024, the parking fee at Thingvellir is 1000 ISK (Icelandic Krona) for a full day.
  • Payment Methods: Payment can be made at the self-service machines in the parking lots or online through the park’s website.
  • Enforcement: The park rangers regularly monitor the parking areas to ensure compliance with the payment system.
