Parking – Þingvellir National Park

Þingvellir National Park is one of Iceland's most popular stops, and parking there is paid. Here is what you need to know.

Price

  • Passenger car (5 seats or fewer): 1,000 ISK per day.
  • One payment is valid for all the park's parking areas for the whole day.

Parking areas

  • P1 – Hakið: At the Visitor Center above Almannagjá, with the viewpoint over the park.
  • P2 – Efri-Vellir: East of the Öxarárfoss waterfall.
  • P5 – Valhöll: Closest to Þingvellir church and the Silfra fissure.

How to pay

  • At the payment machines at the Visitor Center, the restroom building, P2 and P5, or
  • Online at checkit.is.

Unpaid parking is billed to SIXT as the vehicle owner and passed on to you with a handling fee – see Parking, tolls and fines in Iceland.
